Blu Rabbit's Paradise on Schillinger Road might be called "every kidz fantasy" but it's a headache for at least one customer.

Lynda Maniscalco paid more than 140 dollars to book her daughter's 7th birthday party on September 13, 2008.

She got a call the day before the big event from an employee saying they had to cancel. She claims that the employee told her the refund was on the way. More than a week later, she's still waiting. Now, no one is answering the phone and the door is chained at the family entertainment center.

If you look on Blu Rabbit's Paradise website , it says they are undergoing renovations and have mailed refund checks.

News 5 dug a little deeper to uncover more information about Blu Rabbit. A spokesperson for the Alabama Revenue Commission says the owner hasn't been paying taxes and they got what's called a padlock order on the business. It will re-open if and when the company pays its back taxes.

The Alabama Revenue Commission shut the doors of the family entertainment center for not paying taxes.

It was a joke Flower.

I wonder if you could put something like a mechanic’s lien on the property since you are owed for services you rendered?

The labor board cannot do anything for the employees who did not recieve their final paycheck.  There is not really anything anyone can do about the paychecks.  Someone asked about the taxes on your final paycheck.  You do not owe taxes for wages you did not recieve.

If you don’t get paid your wages, do you still owe income tax on what you earned?  Strange…

Labor wage and hour board won’t healp?  Yell loud enough and they will.

A refund on the way for the customers but what about the employees? I was an employee at Blu Rabbit’s Paradise and did not receive my paycheck along with every other employee; plus the labor board won’t do anything about it. WOO HOO for great business, NOT!

Would be nice to know the names of the owners and also be forwarned if they open any new businesses. Buyer Beware.

I’m pretty sure those refund checks aren’t coming.
