The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office arrested a Perdido man who led them on a high-speed chase through two counties.

A deputy tried to pull Kenneth Porter over on Highway 31 in Bay Minette for driving 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. But Porter hit the gas and took off.
The chase hit top speeds of 105 miles per hour. Porter drove north into Escambia County, Alabama and then back down into Baldwin County. The wild chase, oddly enough, ended at Porter's home in Perdido.

Porter got out of the car and ran, but deputies caught him a short time later. His wife saw all the commotion and came running outside.
"You gonna come see me?," Porter said while being led away in handcuffs. "You gonna divorce me? You gonna be here when I get out?"

Deputies say Porter confessed to stealing plasma TV's from his step-father's home in Bay Minette shortly before the chase. His step-father, by the way, is in a Mississippi hospital.

As to why he decided to end the chase at home, Porter said he was only thinking of his wife. He didn't want the car to be impounded because his wife would not have a way to get around.

News 5 has learned this is not the first time Porter has been in trouble with the law. We did a little digging and found out that he's been arrested at least five times before today.

Porter's Rap Sheet
7/19/1998 public intoxication
1/20/1999 public intoxication./resisting arrest/no seat belt/no headlights
2/22/1999 disorderly conduct/resisting arrest
5/21/1999 driving on the wrong side of the road
4/20/2000 speeding/driving with suspended license

Now he's charged with burglary, possession of marijuana, attempting to elude, speeding, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
