This was from a forum discussion last month on welfare. I wanted ya’ll to see the figures from this poster, to see what a lucrative lifestyle it is to some.
I CAN TELL YOU. YOU FIGURE THAT OUR TAXES PAY FOR THEIR HOUSES/APARTMENTS, AVG. $600.00 A MONTH, WE BUY THEIR FOOD, AVG.. FOR FOUR PEOPLE $650.00 A MONTH, PAY FOR MEDICAL $350.00 A MONTH, THEY RECEIVE WELFARE FOR TWO CHILDREN IT IS $215.00 PER MONTH. iF THEY LIVE IN A SECTION 8 HOUSE OR APARTMENT AND DO NOT WORK, THEY GET A CHECK EVERY MONTH TO HELP PAY FOR THEIR LIGHT BILL, APPROXIMATELY $80.00 A MONTH.
$600.00 X 12 = $7,200
$650.00 X 12 = $7,800
$350.00 X 12 = $4,200
$215.00 X 12 = $2,580
$ 80.00 X 12 = $ 960
YEARLY INCOME $22,740.00 FOR NOT WORKING
THE WORKING PERSON $10.00 AN HOUR X 40 HRS. X 52 WEEKS =$20, 800.
I WANT TO KNOW WHY WE CANNOT CLAIM ALL THESE PEOPLE ON OUR TAXES AT THE END OF THE YEAR,
I SUPPORT THEM..............................AND YES I DO KNOW, I WORK IN IT EVERYDAY.
I guess from seeing all that I do (and my husband does), I tend to be skeptical, and am aware of what people will do “for a check.” Actually, he and I were just talking about that very thing. Do you all know crack heads and alcoholics get disability checks? My tax dollars hard at work. I LOVE being a detective and have been known to “stir the pot” on several other issues as well. Right WKRG? lol
As far as just going to the media with a complaint about not getting an aide-I don’t know. But would the media have reported on that complaint. Probably not, not a juicy enough headline, me thinks!
think about it, if a parent really wanted an aid for their child so bad, why would they risk so much for a lie? they will always have that stigma over their heads. do you really think someone would tramatize their child to such a degree for a check. just how much would that check be? is it enough to tear a family apart and ruin a childs life? why wouldnt they just go to wkg and say my kid needs an aid and hes not getting one. i will never believe a parent who loves a child would lie and put a child thru somthing like this for a check. i believe they tried to talk to the principle and were ignored. i feel they were backed into a corner and felt they had to do something. by the way i work for a local college and it would curl YOUR toes to find out how may girls are raped each year and it goes unreported. not by the student, but by the school. they too want an untarnished reputation. i too would like to have a follow up to this story. rmseek want to pair up and investigate for them?
I like that name-CONFUSED. Because apparently, there are quite a few of us that are for the reasons that you listed as well as all the questions I have posted on oh, about 100 or so blogs.
Chichi,
Great to hear from you again! I don’t know if you have looked back through all the other posts, but I have questioned some of the comments you made about “other incidents” at Allentown. I wonder if you could give me some specifics. Can you give me soem specifics on the “other bathroom incident” and also the child struggling, such as what grade level are we talking about, etc? I have decided to retire from nursing and become a private investigator now-lol. Perhaps WKRG would like to hire me to do some undercover investigative work for them?HMMMMM.
My question is, from the interview that the father did, from channel 5 is that he said his son would not be going back to Allentown for school. If this is the case then where is he going? I thought that you were only allowed to miss so much school. If the child has not returned to school since the inncident, then that means he has missed 5 days of schools. Is the child being home schooled?
Also, from watching the interview the father never makes a big deal about what happens just that the child never had an aide. I am sorry but if this happened to my child or my child did it I would not be screming about an aide I would be concerned about the well being of the child.
Further more, why go to the media about it when you have not allowed for the school and police department to finish their investigation. Channel 5 a question for you, aren’t you slandering the school by not knowing all of the facts? Are you going to do a correction to your story for all the lies that you have said?
oh and meeks good luck on playing nice
Well it seems as if there will be no answers we will all just have to stand by wht we believe to be correct and move on Allentown is not a bad school but really could use some help in some areas.
Allentown does not stand alone in thier need to learn to nform the parents more, but apparently our school system will have to reevaluate what they find important enough to contact parents on.
I do realize they are very busy but somethings should be taken care of promptly.
Hopefully Allentown will be able to resolve this issue and the other few it has before the end of the school year.
The comment I just posted was one that I was notified by WKRG that was being closed, because I violated one of their terms. I left my previous “inflammatory” comment out, and do apologize for that. I will try to play nicely now! I have spoken to WKRG (Mr. Burch) and requested that a follow up be done. It is now a week after the “alleged” incident. I, personally would like to know where the investigation stands. I would like to know if everyone has been interviewed, and if so what were the conclusions and actions to be taken. If not, why not?
I believe it is time for this ordeal to be closed and for the community to move on, but that will not happen until the charges have been addressed and questions answered. I hope WKRG will make this a priority, and let Ms. Curth at least find the answers to some of the questions I have posed, by talking to Ms. Cleveland and the father again. Let’s hear updates from both please. Thank you!

While I am not saying this is a welfare family, let’s just say there are added incentives for a chronic disability-ie, asthma, learning disability, seizures, etc. I am not sure of the amount-but I think somewhere between 200-500/month. Foster children with disabilities also get a higher per diem in their foster care families. We can check with DHR on that figure, but I do know some people prefer the crack babies, etc because they get more money.
Now, my husband also questioned me, why we didn’t get a check when our now 13 year old went into respiratory distress when she was 3 or 4, and did have asthma. My response-we make too much money-not that I am by any means rich or well to do. But I guess if we didn’t have a strong work ethic, and sat home all day, we could enjoy our food stamp steak with the best of them.
Back to the question-is diagnosis of autism confirmed? Why does a child with a 120 PLUS IQ NEED an aide? Money? Maybe????
