There are frightening new details about a man who police say made several bomb threats in Mobile Easter Sunday. Ronald Thompson was in court Tuesday for a bond hearing. The judge denied bond saying the allegations against him are serious and disturbing. Prosecutors say police found an active bomb in Thompson's hotel room at the Red Roof Inn in Tillman's Corner as well as other explosive devices and materials to make pipe bombs. The Red Roof Inn was evacuated for hours Sunday, while the Mobile Police Department's bomb squad investigated. Authorities also say Thompson's bomb threats led to the evacuation of the Tillman's Corner Wal-Mart and sent several area hospitals in to lock down,"I'm really grateful that Judge McMaken decided to hold him without bond.I think he represents a continuing threat to the community and I think that he is a flight risk as well," said Mobile County District Attorney, John Tyson. Thompson's court appointed defense attorney, Jason Darley, said, "obviously there are serious charges but I guess more importantly he's not from this area and obviously you know the point of the bond is to ensure that he will return for court and given his ties to other states Judge McMaken made that decision." Thompson is charged with making terrorist threats, possession of cocaine and criminal possession of explosives.

I’m agreeing, there were a number of people put out by his actions...no argument there.
As for his.."having fun with the boys down in Metro.”...I’m guessing snarky is the only way you know how to be.

One can be affected by a story and not need to small minded, but if that is the only way you can deal w/ this, so be it. Enjoy your day!

Tira you are the one making light of the situation. I stated he had no reason to have explosive materials or an active bomb in his possesion. I am glad he is in Jail and hope that they keep him there for a long time. What about all of the people who had to be evacaluted from Walmart as well as the Hospitials. It is known that if you take drugs such as cocaine that it effects you thought process and makes you act crazy. Ever heard the term crackhead. He is one step away from being a crackhead. I hope he is having fun with the boys down in Metro.

Asda, out of respect for the families of those involved. This is an ongoing investigation. It is not my place to divulge what I know just to satisfy someones curiosity. Suffice it to say, that one should always take what the news reports as only what they want you to know.
My only point to this is that we have no right to condem someone when we don’t have the whole story.
Sure it’s easy to say “stay off drugs kids or you will wind up crazy like this guy.” It’s a known fact, drugs are bad for you. But there is a possibility that there is more to this story, and not everyone knows all the facts...so to respect the others involved...the families, don’t be so quick to make light of this story.

Tira unless He is a demolition contractor their is no way for him to explain having explosive devices or than to cause harm and damage.

All I know is what the news is portraying, is not the guy I know. I consider him a friend, and I am aware of others involved who are just as shocked by this story.
I think it’s morally wrong to jump on him when you don’t know all the facts.
