Mobile Police arrested Derrick Ruggs on two different occasions on charges of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and attempted rape of an eleven year old girl.
But as quickly as he was put behind bars....Ruggs was out again.

I wonder if the victims are in a safe place? They need to get the hell out of Mobile! I bet Riggs is looking for them right now. They are living in a real life horror movie, I’m sure. Good time to consider buying a stun gun, or a grenade launcher, what ever your preference for home protection. I prefer pepper spray and a big heavy iron skillet. The grenade launcher can be quite messy, especially if the perpetrator is a big fat guy like Riggs.

If he had pictures of an 11 year old girl on his computer, the FBI would have locked him down for life, but because he tried to rape a little girl in real life, it’s treated as if it were a traffic violation.

Can we quit busting kids for smoking weed and start locking up guys like this before they have the chance to rape and murder 25 girls after jumping bail?

I don’t know any details about this story, but I’ve read enough to make me sick.

Somebody needs to be held responsible for letting this monster back out on the streets, and who ever let him out better hope and prey this guy end-up back in jail before theirs a body count.

Child molesters need to be put away for life. These guys are totally crazy!

but who made the decision on the felony level

Tide Fan I understand that the police are their to do the field work.  Investigate and so forth but I am sick of the way the courts work here.  I lived in TX for a while and they actually seem to care if the criminal gets punishment for the crimes.  Here it seems like it takes 2 years before they ever set foot in a court room to answer for the crimes they are accused of.  I am sorry I do not think it is right that these people get to bond out and go and committ more crimes and I think that is something everyone can agree on.  With Judges like Charles Gradrick that gave a kid youthful offender when he almost killed a police officer while driving drunk.  What type of courts are we running here?

asda...While I certainly understand your frustration...The police have nothing....and I mean nothing at all to do with a person bonding out of jail. Their job is to make a case and effect an arrest. The system in Mobile County of notifying the DA on this type of issue may be the root of the problem. The detective requested the no bond and locked the guy up. The police put people in jail...they dont let them out...that is a bit outside of their job ability…

And while I mean no disrespect...please dont confuse police / investigators with corrections personell...Two totally different jobs there.
