Diana Lucio is the newest addition to the WKRG news team. Joining in August 2007 as a general assignment reporter.
She is a native of California and grew up in the city of Camarillo, away from LA's traffic and skyscrapers. But Los Angeles came calling as she set her sights on UCLA, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. GO BRUINS! While studying for her bachelors she got her first job in journalism as a researcher and freelance event reporter for People Magazine. Her most memorable moment was getting to interview her favorite comedian George Lopez.
But as a firm believer in following one's dreams Diana shifted her focus to broadcasting to fulfill her goal of becoming a local news reporter.
Since then she has gained experience through internships with KEYT-TV in Santa Barbara, Dateline NBC and as a reporter for CitiCable 3 in Torrance, California. Just before hitting the Gulf Coast, Diana was an associate producer for KABC-TV in Los Angeles.
She comes from a family of martial artists and has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do of her own. She is happy to be here and says "there's something to be said about southern hospitality" after meeting some of the kindest people here in the Gulf.
