Jessica Taloney - Reporter
Jessica Taloney joined the WKRG News 5 team as a reporter in April 2007. She came to Mobile from WCBI-TV in Columbus, Mississippi, where she anchored the 10pm news.
During her career, Jessica has been honored by the Mississippi Associated Press four times for reporting excellence. Most recently, she snagged a first place award for an in-depth series on the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Jessica's also been very fortunate to experience two huge thrills--- flying with the Air Force in a T-36 and flying with the Blue Angels in a Hornet! (To watch her fly with the Blues click on the video screen to the right.)
While she enjoys her work in the newsroom, Jessica also enjoys working in the community. She looks forward to being active in her new church, and she is a proud supporter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In 2005, Jessica lead the effort to bring the very first MS Walk to Northeast Mississippi, which has since raised nearly $50,000 for research and patient support.
Jessica is also a huge college football fan... She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi in 2004, where she was named "Best News Anchor" by the Southeastern Journalism Conference and inducted into the university's Hall of Fame. During football season, you'll find Jessica rooting for the Ole Miss Rebels either in Oxford at the game or watching it on TV!
Natives of Missisippi, Jessica and her husband, Justin, are happy to continue calling the south home, and they are looking forward to enjoying all the Gulf Coast has to offer.
Jessica is always looking for her next big story, so feel free to send your ideas...
