Jene' Young is a Meteorologist for the WKRG News 5 First Alert Storm Team. You can watch her weather reports on the weekends as well as environmental stories and weather reports during the week.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from the University of South Alabama, she moved to East Texas for her first job in television. It was in Texas where Jene' covered several extreme weather events, from tornadoes to Hurricane Rita.

Most meteorologists have a childhood story on why they wanted to study the weather; Jene' is the opposite. She spent most of her childhood in sunny southern California, where the weather rarely changes. It wasn't until she moved to Alabama, and took her first meteorology course when she fell in love with the science.

Jene' is very excited to be back along the Gulf Coast with her family and friends. She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for weather with anyone who will listen!

Her hobbies include working out, traveling, triathlons, and storm chasing whenever she can!
