Meteorologist John Nodar has worked in broadcasting--both television and radio--for the past 28 years. 22 of those years have been with WKRG-TV, where he is weather anchor for the morning and noon broadcasts. Prior to WKRG, John worked in Norfolk, Virginia; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and along the way even spent a year in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico at a Spanish-Country-Gospel-News radio station. When you're the only station for a hundred miles in any direction, you've got to be versatile.

He received his meteorology training from the U.S. Air Force and from Mississippi State University. John is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA) and has earned the Seal of Approval from both organizations. He's been honored with numerous broadcast and civic awards--including twice being named "Best Weather Anchor in Alabama" by the Associated Press. Over the years, he has visited tens of thousands of schoolchildren, from kindergarten through college, presenting the "why" of weather in a very personal and personable way.

John and his wife Janet have been married for 26 years and have two children.
