FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - A kite surfer who was injured after
being caught in a gust of wind during Tropical Storm Fay says he
doesn't remember his accident.
Kevin Kearney was injured earlier this week when he slammed into
a building in front of the beach near Fort Lauderdale. A television
crew caught the accident on film.
The 28-year-old still calls kite surfing the "most fun thing
I've ever done," but said he'll be wearing a helmet if he decides
to go kite surfing in tropical storm winds again.
Kearney was released from a hospital Thursday.

Yeah ,I agree I love surfing and all water sports but that was world class ignorance.I mean Kite surfing in a tropical storm ,very dumb.Kite surfing in a tropical storm without any type of quick release harness, very very dumb.I have paddled out into the surf after a storm has passed over actually in Florida that is the best time to surf but Kite surfing during an approach. That is insanely stupid.

carl, i bet every insurance company in america is checking their records to see if he is covered under a policy with them.

He is now officially a little bit smarter, a little but not much. He will wear a helmet but is still considering wind surfing in a storm !! And we wonder why our insurance premiums are so high. He either had insurance or he didn’t, either way we pay for him to get his adrenalin rush. Sounds like running with the bulls where the bulls out number the people.
