Residents of Houston endured a windy, rainy morning thanks to Hurricane Ike, which came ashore Saturday with winds of 110-miles-an-hour.

The Category 2 storm hit Galveston around two o'clock Saturday morning, packing high winds and driving rain. The storm also carried a large storm surge, flooding coastal areas like Galveston.

State and county officials are worried that some people may not have followed orders to evacuate, and that some water rescues may be needed.
