NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana - (AP) - A jury will soon begin hearing testimony in
the first trial over whether Gulf Coast storm victims were exposed
to potentially dangerous fumes while living in government-issued
trailers.
Jury selection started Monday for the lawsuit against trailer
maker Gulf Stream Coach Inc. The lawsuit was filed by New Orleans
resident Alana Alexander and her son, Christopher Cooper.
However, the federal government won't be on trial.
Judge Kurt Engelhardt ruled last month that a two-year statute
of limitations bars Cooper's claims against the government. Lawyers
say they plan to appeal that ruling.
Hundreds of consolidated lawsuits claim FEMA trailers exposed
residents to "elevated levels" of formaldehyde, which can cause
breathing problems and is classified as a carcinogen.

Has anyone heard the outcome from this case. Ungratful people!

Before you jump to conclusions know this.  Gulf Stream was paid in full for these trailers.  They didn’t give anything away for free.  The lawsuit is against Gulf Trailers not FEMA.  I am sure that these folks are very thankful to FEMA for the assistance but Gulf Stream does need to be heald accountable for their negligence.

AMEN Anonymous1967!!!! Somebody always wants something for nothing, stop waiting for someone to do things for you and step up and get it done yourself!!

Be thankful you had a roof over your head and taht someone gave it to your for FREE!!  When are we going to start taking care of ourselves, not depending on the government to do it, and stop blaming others because we weren’t PREPARED.  I lost everything I own to Katrina…took out a ridiculous loan and stayed in a fema trailer…..but unlike these people…..I’m thankful….
