NAS Whiting Preps For 66th Anniversary

Florida Milton  The Milton base celebrates its 66th anniversary this Saturday.

MILTON, Florida - Fans of the band Lonestar have a treat. The group will be part of NAS Whiting Field’s 66th Anniversary celebration. The event takes place from 10 am to 5:30 pm on 10/24/09. There will also be food vendors, arts and crafts a search and rescue demonstration among other items of interest.

The base is dedicated to Captain Kenneth Whiting. He was one of America’s first Naval aviators. He was also instrumental to the Navy as an early proponent of the aircraft carrier. To learn more about NAS Whiting tune in to tonight’s Hometown tour at 6 pm this evening.
