I drive Tanner Williams Rd Sometimes 4/5 times a day. Going west to Wilmer is a posted speed limit of 55 mile per hour from Snow Rd to wilmer. Now go West from wilmer to snow rd you will find the posted speed limit is 40 mile per hour. When you see the 40 mile per hour sign look in the rearview to see the 55 miles per hour sign almost directly across the street. Which is it I would really like to know.

I see this on many of our county roads. I drive a dump truck local and even some city streets are marked different on the other side.

Traffic Engineers use formulas to work out the speed limits for a road. The formula takes into account the type (surface) of street, it’s width, amount of traffic, the distance between cross streets, obstructions to visibility, curves, grade and a whole slew of other factors. That formula is applied to both directions of travel.
