I received this in my e-mail today and thought of this thread. It's pretty interesting to see it instead of just read about it.

Now. Like DEW26M I plan on taking this a step at a time. I am not trained in handling explosives gases and on my meager income I can't afford to place either of my vehicles at risk. However... There is an old lawnmower in the back of the garage that still runs. Hmmmm.. <Grin>. We'll see...

Wayne...

Wayne, any luck with that lawn mower yet? My husband has gotten pretty interested in this idea, but he's really skeptical, which is understandable. Wish we had a vehicle we could afford to experiment on.

Not yet... Have several problems here. The first being my computer was hit with a serious worm and it's taking a while to get it straightened out. Lack of cash being the second problem LOL. While I have not been able to do anything I have spent some time thinking about it.

I have no doubts that it will work. LP gas has been used for years to fuel forklifts with no ill effects. Mobile has several city buses that are LP Gas powered. So the basic technology foundation has been laid and proven to work. The problem seems to be generating and/or storing the HHO gas.

There is currently no infrastructure in place to support the distribution of HHO. It would take billions of dollars to emplace one. So it would seem the next best solution would be to generate the gas in the vehicle or at a gas distribution point. I would prefer doing it in the vehicle for a couple of reasons. Durn.. Got to go to work.. I'll try to finish this later...

If everybody could make their own HHO in their garages, we wouldn't need fueling stations. I'm willing to bet people would do it too, even paying to have the system set up, if it will save them a lot of money in the future. I'm sure something like that is years in the making though.

LOL

Good choice Billydkd...

As I said in an earlier post I would prefer to generate the HHO in the engine at the time of need. The major reason is for safety. From the videos I've seen and from what I van vaguely recall from chemistry class HHO is more explosive than gasoline. So having a storage tank of the stuff in your car, even in a small quantity could prove deadly.

As for why you haven't seen this method being offered by reputable dealers? No one can take the risk of a lawsuit if something should go wrong. And the folks offering the books and kits for sale? They think they are protected by the disclaimers in their literature. All of us know how well that theory will work.
