Steven and Patricia are two of the people in Baldwin County who are homeless. There are many organizations that offer their services to people in need, but they won’t help if you have nowhere to live. Patricia, who is my fiancee, and I have went to all of the organizations in the area such as, The United Way, Ecumenical Ministries, and Catholic Social Services, to try and get help but they have told us that they can’t help us because we have no place to live. My fiancee is also on High Blood Pressure medicine, which could kill her if she doesn’t take it, but we also asked these different organizations to help with her medicine; but there again they told us that they couldn’t help us because we were homeless. What makes matters for us even worse is that my fiancee just had surgery to remove her Gall Bladder on 10/19/07 and the doctor told her she needed to be bed ridden for several days, but its kind of hard to stretch out in the front seat of a pick-up truck. I pray that everything will be okay for us but I don’t know if it will or not. Many people have told me that God will not put more on a person than he/she can handle, but I’m starting to disbelieve them because this feels like it is to much. I’m doing my best to keep from starving to death and keep our vehicle running, but all the problems we are having are overwhelming me. I’m reaching out with what feels like my last bit of strength asking anyone who reads this to looks in your hearts and help a family in need. There have been a few very good people in this world that have helped us as much as they possibly could and it did help, but we are still sinking. We were given an RV that has been gutted, but we are trying to get some assistance in moving it and for a place to put it. We have found a place that we could put it, but we don’t have the finances to rent the space at the Gulf State Park Campgrounds. I beleive it costs $75.00 per week. We are at this point just getting by on the small amount of money that I am making. We barely have enough money to pay for gas and a little food. Sometimes we don’t even get to eat more than just a few snacks. That is the only update on our situation that I have at this time. Thank You and God Bless You!!!

the people in baldwin county are mostly people from up north who are coming down here with plenty of money because they finally realized its too cold up there and they priced the locals out…and the local people who have lots of money are some of the most sickening people i’ve ever met…they think they are cultured just because they have a little money…i don’t think so…i worked for a pump company on pollard road for a man who has never worked a day in his life…claimed to be a christian but had a real evil about him and how the people who worked for him were brainwashed by this guy…not me…i told them to stick it…basically its those kind of people who make it hard on real people…sorry no good,hell bound folks.

One does not have to look very hard to notice that there are so many households in Beautiful Baldwin County,that are experiencing difficult financial times.We are so used to seeing the homeless as people living on the streets,but today,its not so.Our society has become so indignant of people that have less than we may have.we are so materialistic,and selfish.Of all the building boom that has taken place in our county,how much of that residential prosperity was built with everyone in mind.There are neighborhood after neighborhood with vacant houses that noone has ever moved into.Why is there such a negative characterization of building affordable housing.The bible states that the poor we will have with us always,so therefore it is our bibical and moral duty to try our hardest to help our fellow man,regardless of RACE,DISABILITY,BACKGROUND,EDUCATION,OR FINANCIAL STATUS in life.Noone is perfect,we all fail at times,but to continue to ignore the less fortunate is not pleasing in the sight of God.We must strive to do better,because none of these earthly possessions are gonna go with us when we leave this old world,so why hoard up for yourselves treasures on this earth,when there are many around us who may not have as much.
