400+ children and over a hundred adults, removed or voluntarily left the Texas polygamist community to live elsewhere for an unspecified amount of time while charges of rape and abuse are investigated.

I'm all for anyone following whatever religion appeals to them - or none at all, if that's their preference. But polygamists have a very creepy history of bedding young girls and deeming it perfectly okay in the name of God. Polygamists are born into their lifestyle, never knowing anything different, never really understanding the outside world around them. It's sort of like the Amish but with a little pedophilia added to the mix.

I can't even imagine what these children, mothers and grandmothers will do if they're not allowed back at the compound - which they certainly shouldn't be, if the charges turn out to be true. It's the only life they've ever known. How could they adjust to life on the outside? It would be like being born in prison, then suddenly thrown out into the real world to fend for yourself.

What a terrible, incomprehensible life.

The trouble with real life is there’s no danger music.

You know, the original idea of the polygamist lifestyle was not bad. It was more of communal way of life. If was NEVER intended for incest and pedophilia. It was to be between consenting Adults.
What these extremist have taken it to is horrible and they have made something that could be helpful to families a nasty and dirty thing. I despise these guys for what they have done, but then again, I have problems with all religious extremist.
