How do you think they sell a lot of their planes? They promise part of the manufacturing to the countries that buy the planes. I am suprised no one has brought up their other billion dollar contract called CSAR. Combat Search and Rescue helicopters. They won the bid a couple of years ago using the HH-47 Chinook helicopter. Two other bidding companies contested the contract award and won. I don't know all the facts but, something was evidently wrong with the bidding process. So all the companies are to re-bid sometime this year.
Why doesn't the Air Force just stipulate that all of the work will be done in America? That way the 19,000 jobs that are going to Europe will stay here in Alabama.
