I would again like to thank you for the coverage of “Santa’s Workshop in Whistler.We done a total of 284 toys and not one could benefit a child with special needs.This is where I need some assistance with designing a special rocker or some type of cart to where a special needs child and parents could unwind and have a little fun.
I would like someone that works with the children at USA WOMENS and Children Hospital.Doctor,nurse,physical therapist etc. to contact me. I will draw as they describe to me what might work for a given special needs child in their hospital.
I will then construct the object and donate one to the hospital and a second one to the family of that child.

You may also check with Easter Seals, UCP of Mobile, Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, and the Alabama Department of Children’s Rehabilitative Services. If you google toys for children with special needs or adaptive toys, there should be websites for companies that carry these products. I used to work with the Early Intervention program, for children birth to 3years old with delays/disabilities and these resources were invaluable. I am not sure that you can make a “standard” chair, because so many things these children have have to be custom modified due to varying reasons such as spasticity, contractures, and other issues. Good luck with your endeavor, you are certainly a kind-hearted person.
