Hi All,

I am surprised and outraged over the arrest of a 12 year old autistic child at a local school. Why is this happening? Why is no one talking about it? These innocent children are forced to be in an all inclusive setting because of lack of funding and training and then they are punished for the lack of skills to cope? Who is the victim here? The child is.  there is too much information available for any child to be treated this way. An autistic child is not a danger or a threat. Strickland is not a place he should be EVER! And even if it is thrown out as it should be..The child is now traumatized. It cant be undone. Im a very proud parent of a high functioning autistic child and he is a straight A very loved and liked child.  Autism is a condition not a problem. These children dont chose to be this way. It is a shame and a pity this still happens in this country. I am ashamed and saddened by what has happened to this child and for all the ones it will happen to in the future unless we do something about it! I know I cant be the only one out here that feels this way..Right?

There is definitely a lot of information on Autism Spectrum Disorders out there, especially available to Educators, general education and special education. 

There really is no excuse.  It does not matter how many Educational Degrees a person may hold, they can still be ignorant of other subjects.  Everyone needs more education on Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
