During Mardi Gras February 2007 My son was at the parade. A police officer didn’t like the way he wore his pants , so my son was not only stunned gun three times his arm was also dislocated and sent to the youth center. two weeks ago we went to court for this incident at the youth center and myself and a few other adults clearly felt that the police lied about what had happened. I felt that since they were police officers the judge felt they were right for doing this. My family will never trust the police here in Mobile because of this and the lies they told.

I cant say I blame them at all. These boys need to wear their pants where they were meant to be worn, not sagging. People that do that need to be arrested. There are kids at mardi gras, and I wouldn’t want my kids to see the disgusting acts done by those boys. If he resists arrest, he should be stunned. And if he still tries to put up a fight during a public event, he should be stunned again. That is their job, and I’m glad they’re doing it.

you deffintley sound like a rasists. If you didn’t like the color of my skin would you stun gun me.  This is a child. If I don’t like the way you child looks like those kids who wear all that black would or even the shin heads would you do the same.

Then, anyone who disagrees with a black (as you indicated), must be a racist as you see it. I never mentioned race as a factor. If you like driving the race car, soon it will crash.

first of all, it really surprices me that you would think in a ingnorent manner. my son had on three pairs of pants not one once of his flesh was showing nor his underwear. a pair of pants he had underneath was showing. Did this give the police the right to take away his freedom of dress expecially if it is not offensive or obseen. And for you information I don’t like my son to dress in this matter and verbally tell him on a daily bases. In my opion the police had know legal right to aproach him or dislocate his arm because he walked away and pulled his pants up. there were thoudsands of children doing more dangerous things then a young man doing know harm to anyone and minding his own buisness. I don’t expect everyone to agree with me but we do have rights in america wether you like it or not.

And one of the rights is to be free from lewd conduct, that occurs commonly at Mardi Gras. I am thankful that the police are doing what they are supposed to, and keep the streets family friendly during mardi gras. Otherwise, mardi gras would be out of control, as New Orleans proudly displays. I guess that its their “heritage” and they need to keep it alive.

How old is your son? All i have to say is the police have to be hard. They just cant baby some one just because you want them to. They wont use force unless there was a reason. And about the pants i have young kids and I cant even take them in to walmart cause you see peoples asses hanging out of there pants I think they should be arrested for indesent dressing. I have seen all people doing it. Girls with there boobs hanging out and there buts barely covered. You cant even go into a dr. office with out seeing people dresses like that. It is sick that people dress like whores. It is true. Esp. Blacks. They are the worst. The boys wear there pants to there knees and if they ont want to wear them right dont wear them at all. And the girls WOW! they wear them VERY short skirts that when they walk there butt cheeks hang out. I mean it is gross to see that crap every time you go out in public. I think people should be arrested for what they wear in public. There should be some kind of dress code for people. ALL people not just certain ones but all. The should have to wear there pants normally. and there skirts shouls be no higher then 2 inches from there knees. Maybe if the parents would get off there asses and make the kids look respectful them there wouldnt be any problems like we see these days.

My only question in reference to this matter is where you there and did you actually see the way your son treated the policemen or vise versa? The police here in Mobile have MUCH better things to do than pin point someone out just because they don’t like the way they wear their pants especially during Mardi Gras. There is obviously more to the story. I would strongly suggest doing a citizen ride along through the Mobile Police Department and actually see first hand the type of scum and smart mouth children they deal with on a day to day basis. I will assure you that you will have a completely different perspective on the reason why they do the things they do. Don’t be so quick to judge the police until you walk a day in their shoes.

I would just like to say that I have two relatives that work for the police department and know first hand on the character of these two police officers. I was not there on this day but I did have adult witnesses that first hand saw what was going on. I did not take my son side at what happened until the adults that he was with told me what had happended. they even recieved phone numbers from other adults in the area of what happened and the police wanted to teach all the children that day a lesson so they chose my son to do it and this is from the word of other officers that I know.

Then go ahead and sue them. And call the naacp too. Without even examining something, they will immediatly take the side of the black person, and end up winning.

Well I know that this was posted a few days ago, but i just wanted to , i guess give my 2 cents, i am by no mean racist (i just wanted to say off the top) i dont like the way some people wear their pants, i dont really have that problem with my childern because they are small and they are girls, BUT IT IS NOT JUST BLACKS THAT WEAR THEIR PANTS THAT WAY!! so maybe some of you that left comment about this ladys son should look around, because i have even seen young girls wearing their paints that way. ANd as for the subject, police officers will do what ever they want, i know, it has happened to me a few years ago when i was a little bit younger. Anyways,, i fought my charges and won
So i hope that everything goes well with you and your son
