I have sent e-mail to two reporters asking about following up on stories covered by WKRG. In neither case have I received a response. Not even a "Thank you for your interest" note.
I must say that I am disappointed. One of the stories concerned animal abuse and generated a lot of traffic from the users here. The other was about the restaurant in Pensacola that burned; then it was discovered that the owner wasn't exactly who he said he was. I think there were/are a lot of folks that would love to see a follow up to that story.
Yet, to my enquiries at least, there has been nothing but dead air. I always thought "dead air" was a bad thing in radio and tv land?
I understand (sorta) why reporters and staff don't participate on the forums, but I must admit that I'm puzzled about not getting any responses to my e-mails. It would seem that we are being asked to participate here without any reciprocal participation of any kind. WKRG gets the rewards while we are seemingly ignored.
Perhaps it's time the staff of WKRG were allowed or perhaps encouraged, to answer their e-mail?
