He didn't say anything in his defense! If he's talking on other shows about it I haven't seen it yet. Is it really slander if it was a private conversation? I don't know. Did she get some of the money too? It's her boyfriend, I'm sure she benefited in some way.

I'm not sure how the legalities of slander work...if one has to be publicly vocal in defaming one's good name, or simply guilty if what's said goes public, as in this case.
But you know that as successful as the show has been (I think I heard somewhere it is or was A & E's most-watched series), Dog-and-family have lots of money. You also know there are some people who want other people's money and are not above going after it in whatever way is possible. You can bet Shinnery has an attorney who also wants his share of Dog's bounty.
