For several days I kept noticing the above-referenced item in the list of recipes toward the bottom of the main page of this website. There is just something less than appetizing about the description of meat on toast. I wondered why they would say “meat on toast.” Wouldn’t beef on toast sound better? Turkey on toast maybe?

Well, today I finally clicked on that recipe and read the ingredients. Now I UNDERSTAND! big surprise

I always look foreward to reading your posts...they usually provide a much needed laugh! As for "meat on toast"...well, that sounds about as appetizing as "undeveloped chicken embryos"....(or eggs to you and me)
Keep up the comic relief!

Apparently there are those on this forum/message board that fail to recognize my somewhat sardonic wit and sarcastic lexis. Instead, those verbal griffters accuse me of grandstanding simply because I ask questions. What’s a guy to do? Bow down to absurdity, or stay the course?

This issue is worth discussing, but my written words apparently put a blight upon the subject and made some cower away. That was not my intention.

Hey, with that name it could be whatever you hit on the way home. Coon, possum, possum on a half shell, the possibilities are endless. Whatever happened to s--- on a shingle?

I love all ya'lls wit and charm! I have seriously been thinking of ways to cut that rising food bill every week. While I don't think I could eat tongue of any kind, I might have to be more observant of the roadways for dinner-lol. Maybe they could publish some Budget Gourmet recipes, or perhaps not, since if the price of once cheap staples is rising. I suppose there will be no budget anything in the days and weeks to come. long face

Talk about budget, I can't stick with mine because of the rising prices. I don't eat meat, but the price of produce is killing me.

Now would be a great time to start a garden! And who knows, maybe you could sell some of your crops for biofuels! (of course, the feds would then have to tax your profits...then they would tax the tax...and any rebate that you may get from the already taxed tax...it's all very taxing.)

I've actually thought about a garden, but I think the deer by my house would enjoy it more than me. But then again, I guess I could get deer meat-as long as I don't get caught hunting out of season. Just kidding.
