I don’t think that enough is being done about getting people to abide by this law. When someone who is uninsured causes a wreck, they walk away with a citation. They may have to pay $100 and they are free (if they even show up for court.) While the people that they hit suffeer. You can try to file a suit against them, but good luck receiving your settlement. I feel that if you cannot obey this law (you probably don’t obey others also) there should be a much stiffer punishment. I know that other states don’t have a MLI law, but we do. The magority of people on the road have insurance and obey the laws, it is the few that don’t have insurance that make our rates go up.
What do others think about this?
