How can we expect someone to lead OUR country who will not even say the pledge and if he does, says one nation under gods, instead of God. Also with his Muslim ties-do we want to hand our country over to Islam?

Again, all that internet crap has been debunked. Dislike him if you want, don't vote for him if you don't want to, but do it for legitimate reasons, not because you believe gossip.

I really like what Obama says about issues here in the US, but what good does it do to improve our economy here for a little while, pull our troops out before finishing the job in Iraq, and have another 9/11 (or worse) destroy it again?

I heard today that there's a chance Huckabee become McCain's running mate, I like that combo.

NAB,

Would you mind posting the link to where that has been debunked? I still won't vote for him-but would like to see the report. Thanks.

There are a number of references regarding the false statements about Obama's so-called "Muslim ties", his refusal to place his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance and many other untruths that have been forwarded ad nauseum for the past six months or so. Snopes has several different links regarding the same, but this one is quite detailed and factual.

I think it's interesting that of all the candidates, every single one who has shortcomings and history they're probably not proud of, more people focus on Obama than any of the others. I chalk it up to the fact that he's black and has a name that offends some. There's certainly no other good reason for such a never-ending deluge of out-and-out slander.

OK-points taken from the snopes site. Still not the candidate for me, and race has nothing to do with it. Personally I admire both Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell and think they would do well if they ever decided to run for office. But a question I posed earlier is, how many people ARE voting for Barrack because he IS black? Not because of any other reasons. Same with Hiliary-how many people are voting because she is a woman? I don't think Obama has the experience and I don't think Hiliary has the backbone to be a good president. I also think that if a Dem is elected, welfare lines will be longer and we will see an increase in all these government handouts-because pity the little person who can't(won't) help themselves.

I know it's a long shot, but Ron Paul would be my choice and everyone else's if you listen to this man's message. He is the only canidate that isn't backed by corporate entities and only accepts money from individuals. He is true-blue and is on the side of the people. He's beens labeled as radical, but most of his ideas hold great merit for the individual in this country. He talks about abolishing the federal reserve, which most of us think is a government institution. It isn't. It is a group of bankers from the US and abroad that make money for the cost of the paper, backed by nothing, and loan it to us for a profit. You don't have to believe me. Look it up. It was an idea created by the richest men in this country in the early part of the 20th century and pushed into existence by the same men. It was a quite stealthy move and it worked. By the constitution, the government has the right to coin, value and regulate money in this country, but they don't. They leave it to an elite group of bankers, who also make up the list for the president to chose the next chairman of the federal reserve from among their ranks. So who really runs this country?

McCain is just being realistic about the war in Iraq. Without doubt there will be a long-term U.S. Military presence in Iraq. To just walk away would be a catastrophic mistake!
