When I got home a couple hours latterI had a noticewaiting from my card holder.Seems the SHELL @ 225 Schillinger Rd. ADDS a $1.00 surcharge for using a Mastercard. A lot of gas stations do that, when you see the pump authorizing...I think they are testing to see if you have money in your account and I was told they put a 50.00 hold on it at the same time(I was told this by someone who works in a local gas station, but havent authenticated it) anyway the 1.00 is an authorization charge, some banks give it back to you at the end of the statement month, some dont..check with your bank.. if you dont get it back.. that cheap gas just cost you a dime more per gallon for 10 gallons,
I know the gas station on the corner of Azaela and Airport do the same as well as the ones down on DIP.
Personally I think a sign should be posted that the charge is being levied against your account. I dont know if they dont think people are aware of it and not checking thier accounts or what. But I do believe if they are going to levy that charge you should be notified.
Or else that 2.79 cheap gas just went up to 2.89 for 10 gallons. And isnt so cheap.

This is sort of a tangent, but on the topic of dining & tipping, some restaurant owners charge their waitstaff a percentage of tips that are on credit cards. For instance, if I put a $5 tip on my credit card, the restaurant owner may take $1.50 of it, leaving the waiter with only $3.50. I try to tip in cash when I eat out, even if the meal itself is charged. I want the server to get the whole tip.
