I wanted to post this thread to see how many different definitions people have on what is a "good christian".
I believe in the good lord, I try to keep from judging others, (which is very hard to do), I also believe in the golden rule and try to abide by it. I don't go to church or pray as often as I should. I try to help others when I can. I do loose my temper sometimes and feel guilty afterwards. SO...does this make me a "good christian" ?

I think it's a sweet thought to name the bridge after the children. But isn't the Father making himself famous through his children by it. He said he wanted to be famous like the man at Virgina Tech, etc.

To me that's giving him exactly what he wanted.

RESCUE..RECOVERY..and..VOLUNTEERS..I would like to take a minute to thank all of these "Special People" who are and have been working so hard in these difficult conditions to recover these children. Like most situations it takes an accident or tragedy like this one to recognize the people we count on everyday. I don't know what we would do without you. Thank you.

Please cross all the "T's" and dot all the "I's" on Luong's indictment. Let there be no appeals for this defendant. This family has been through enough. When I heard the news report that his lawyer was asking for a translator for him I was livid. I didn't want one penny of our tax dollars going for his monster. But if he didn't get a translator that may have been grounds for an appeal. NO APPEALS! This needs to come to an end for this family.

Granted, in consideration of renaming the Dauphin Island's bridge is a rather beautiful and most thoughtful gesture. However, in being most realistic we as citizens of Mobile must consider on the other hand that there will be other unfortunate events in the future (not limited to bridges only).

Are we as Mobilians prepared to rename other venues as such? It will only be fair to all. Each and every unfortunate occurrence is a major loss for any surviving family(ies) and friends alike. What is considered proper for one family should also be considered proper for all citizens (families) of Mobile.

Another point to consider...would such a gesture be cost-effective for Mobile? Can we afford to open up such a "can of worms" Mobile?

        Sounds
by Kaffy Griffin

Four babies went down, three babies found, one baby still missing, but God knows where she went aground. Four babies gone, and only the father heard their sounds. The father troubled and confused didn’t know the Father who could help him and clear his troubled mind, the Father who could teach him how to love and not murder and misuse. The Heavenly Father never stopped looking down. He knew and knows everything about the four babies who went down and the father who could watch them drown. Never once did God blink His eye. He saw it all and only He knows the reason why. Four babies went down, they are not lost they have been found. They won’t have to grow up in this world they’ve gone to a brand new world where beauty and love flows. A world of peace and joy. A world of no tears and sorrow. Only God knows what sorrows they would have had to bare. He took them home to keep them there to forget the troubles of growing up in a world of hatred, and the struggle to climb the stair. God said He would put no more on us than we can bare. I can’t begin to think of what I would have done in a situation such as this. A mother left without the feel and touch of her young. Only God can comfort her as her hope hangs in the thought, “maybe they will find my four babies that went down.” So she may give their bodies a warmer place to sleep, because God has given them a little crown. The Heavenly Father never stopped looking down, and continued to show His love all around. From city to city and from state to state, people poured in and got involved in the case. Relentless in their search while communities cried from their hurt. No one knowing what to think as to what the father was thinking, but God comforted us all because all of our hearts were sinking. The people not wanting to give up, and weather conditions getting worse, while baby number four’s body is still being coerced to a place to rest, but even though her body is drifting, her little spirit has rested. God knows it all and we all will be tested. I pray that baby number four’s body will soon be found, because I believe her spirit is with the Heavenly Father and He has given her a little crown. A father’s betrayal we will never forget. Judas betrayed our Heavenly Father and the whole world hasn’t forgotten, Jesus the Father’s Son, the Only Begotten. These four babies will live in the heart of their mother, her love for them will never cease, but as time goes on I pray that God will continue to bring her comfort and peace. We go through life wondering what tomorrow will bring, but we weren’t promised tomorrow, and wonders never cease. I pray we all strive to get through the day every day, and let God who is peace be our peace. Let us not forget the four babies who went down, and pray that we all may be found. And like those four we will receive our crown. We all belong to God who knows all things. His eyes never sleep and he hasn’t missed a beat and he hears every sound. I pray this family finds comfort and strength in God’s love and strength that knows no bounds, and be assured that He has heard your sounds.

Hello everyone! I have been researching how to get the name of the Dauphin Island Bridge change to The Four Angels Bridge. I have emailed Governor Riley at http://www.governor.state.al.us, Representative Spencer Collier at scollier at alabamasafetyinstitute dot com and Senator Ben Brooks at benbrooksiii at aol dot com. I have also placed calls to their offices. In addition, I have started a petition at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/fourangelsbridge. Please take a moment to sign the petition and to email those who have the power to make the name change a reality.
