Woman’s Body Found In Dumpster

Florida Pensacola A maintenance worker found the body behind a Shell Station on Highway 29 in Pensacola. The case is being treated as a homicide.

Thursday 1:25 p.m.
- Cheryl Cain lived with her parents.
- She was last seen Tuesday morning.
- Cain’s white, 1999 Toyota Camry is missing. Her parents believe she was carjacked.
- News 5's Debbie Williams will have the latest on the investigation tonight on news 5 at 5:00.

Thursday 8:56 a.m.
- The Escambia County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as 29-year-old Cheryl Cain of Cantonment.
- Investigators are still waiting on autopsy results to confirm a cause of death.

Wednesday 6:39 p.m.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office is trying to figure out who killed a woman and left her body in a dumpster.

A maintenance worker found the body of a white female around 4:00 p.m. behind a Shell Station on Highway 29 at Burgess Road in Pensacola.

Deputies have not been able to identify the woman. They're moving the entire dumpster to the Sheriff's Office while they investigate the homicide.

This story sure went quiet. Do the cops have any leads at all? Do they think she knew her assailant, or do they think it was a stranger abduction/murder?

Whoever killed this young woman is still out there somewhere and we don’t have a clue if it was a local, or someone just passing through Pensacola on that fateful day.

i love beth holloway no mother did more to find her child, but bamabob there are so many more. i go to some of the sites from time to time, you never know.

I followed the Natalee Holloway story very closely for over a year and watched the verbal wars break out over that one. I will never get that involved with such a thing again.

So little is known about this story. If it was a random abduction, then the public should be made aware of the danger. If it was something else, that should be known as well.

i think he got her some place else dumped her body and then went to the bus station to wash up. its just really strange. so is that little girl missing in california. bamabob you should go to that site for the missing. bunch of advocates on there. i think you would be really good at it.

It would be interesting to know where that car was found. Did she just stop at that McDonald’s and get abducted, or was something else going on with this.

bamabob, this is such a horrible crime, could be he dumped the body then went to the restroom to clean up and put the underwear in the restroom.

I see in another report that they did find her car shortly after finding her body.

“Investigators say around 4 o’clock yesterday a maintenance worker found the body of 29-year-old Cheryl Renee Cain lying face down, clothed, in the trash.

Deputies… Don’t know how long the body had been there.

The dumpster is located behind a closed service station near the corner of Burgess Road and Highway 29. Across the street at a Greyhound Bus Station… Investigators found possible evidence in a restroom.

People inside waiting for a bus told Channel Three News they found women’s underwear in the men’s restroom.”

What else is known about this crime? It kind of sounds like she was grabbed in the vicinity of the dumpster and dragged into a restroom at the bus station. Then her body was put into that dumpster. How does such a thing go unnoticed? And, what became of her car?

What a loss of such a beautiful life. She was such a wonderful, sweet, loving and outgoing person. Its really sad when you see a dear friend pass. I just hope that whoever did this knows that they will get theirs and they have God to answer to now. No one deserves to die like that! I hope that sorry excuse for a human is found soon. It just makes you value life that much more no matter how good or bad because we never know what is in store for tomorrow. All of my prayers go out to her family. R.I.P. I will miss you deeply.
