Two suspects that escaped from the Santa Rosa County Jail in late July are back in custody. Late last night, investigators received information that Ricky Dale Spears and David Dixon were located at a residence in Berrydale off of Highway 4. Investigators immediately followed up on the lead, and determined that Spears and Dixon were at the specified location and were trying to get a friend to pick them up in a vehicle at a predetermined time. The Santa Rosa County SWAT team was called out to respond to the incident. SWAT team members then arrived at the residence at the predetermined time that Spears and Dixon were expecting their ride. Spears and Dixon attempted to flee into the woods nearby, but were apprehended by SWAT team members. Both suspects were immediately transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail were they were booked on their charges of escape. No further information or details are being released at this time.
