GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities in Gainesville say a
14-year-old boy performed a sex act on a female classmate as other
students in the special-needs classroom watched.
The teen was charged this week with sexual battery and false
imprisonment. Another boy is accused of helping hold down the girl,
who is also 14.
Alachua County Sheriff's Office spokesman Art Forgey said the
Dec. 15 incident happened while the teacher had stepped out of the
room for about 10 minutes. That teacher has since been disciplined,
according to a spokeswoman for Alachua County Public Schools.

please parents teachers etc pay close attention to your children we are at war with this and our children are precious just as you would guard your life if someone said they would take it please guard children of all ages parents need to pay close attention to what they hear see and speak i believe acts are done like this beacause of what a child sees or hears

Amen Razorsharp. Kids learn by what they see and hear.  If he did not see this at home or on TV, then he was somewhere that he was not supervised.  Of course, nowadays “special needs” class doesn’t necessarily mean they were mentally challenged, it could be behavioral problems class which would mean they definitely needed supervision every minute while at school and a teacher should never have left them alone.  I still say if they would bring back that long flat board called a paddle, that would solve a lot of problems. Oh, I forgot that is called child abuse in certain people’s point of view.

I agree that the teacher should not have left the children unattended and should be punished accordingly. However, there is a far more disturbing issue here and that is that a 14 year old CHILD has the fortitude to commit such a heinous act on another student while another student helped to hold her down. These kids don’t just think this stuff up… Children today are exposed to way too much, way too soon and the parents are usually the culprits. Most of these children suffer no consequences or discipline, and so later in life they go on to commit more violent crimes. This is an endless cycle. Our laws nationwide need to be changed to mirror the severity of these heinous crimes to act as a deterrent to this type of behavior early on. No more leniency…schools have taken on the role of parent and baby-sitter. Our society is in bad shape, and this is merely one facet.

ok it was a special needs class. those kids didnt need to be alone for a second much less 10 minutes. if i was the superintendent of the system he or she would NEVER work in my system again! i think the teacher needs to have charges brought against them like child neglect or something. the teache is partially @ fault.
