PENSACOLA, Florida - Police are looking for a man they say attacked a Sonic employee with a steak knife.

According to Pensacola police, a 30-year-old man, who works at the Sonic Drive-in on North Ninth Avenue, was approached by a man in the parking lot of a nearby business. he asked the Sonic employee if they were hiring and then asked for a dollar.

When the Sonic employee said he didn't have a dollar, the man tried to reach into the employee's pockets. The man then pulled out a steak knife and swung it at the Sonic employee, cutting his shoulder.

He swung the knife a second time, but missed, before he took off without any money. A steak knife was recovered at the scene.

The suspect is a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 5'10", 180-190 pounds. He has a dark complexion, with braided hair and was wearing a white sleeveless tank top and blue jeans. He also had some type of tattoo on his right shoulder.

Anyone with information about this attacked is asked to call Detective Jeff Brown at 850.435.1980 or the Pensacola Police Department at 850.435.1900.

A black man with a dark complexion is willing to stab someone because they would not give him a dollar?

While not surprised, this kind of violence seems to escalating both in Mobile and Pensacola.

Hopefully, since the thug left his steak knife, the police will be able to process it for fingerprints and find out the identity of this moron.  You know it won’t be his first offense.

Fast food restaurants seem to becoming the next set of targets after the dollar stores.

I wonder if this Sonic was near a Walmart?  Walmarts seem to draw the criminal element and the surrounding small businesses become easy targets.

The Subway robbery which happened Sunday night on Cottage Hill Rd was across the street from a Walmart.
