A murder investigation is underway in Northwest, Florida after authorities say a man shot and killed his own father.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office got a call from the neighborhood along Wiley Penton Road in Pace, Florida just after one o'clock this afternoon. That's where deputies found the body of 66 year old Roy Barnhill Sr. lying on his mother's drive way. Authorities believe he was shot several times by his son after a family dispute. "This is being investigated as a homicide and there's just a lot of leads that we need to follow up and interviews that we need to conduct to figure out exactly what happened,"Said Sgt. Scott Haines with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's office.
Roy Barnhill Jr. is being charged with an open count of murder. He is being held at the Santa Rosa County Jail.
