MIAMI (AP) - Thousands of shoes were dumped on a Miami
expressway causing significant traffic delays.
Lt. Pat Santangelo says the Florida Highway Patrol received the
report during rush hour Friday morning. A private contractor
brought a front-end loader and a dump truck to the half-mile
stretch of highway. Workers were able to clear at least one lane
after a short time by sweeping all the shoes to shoulder, but
delays were expected to last until all the shoes could be removed.
Santangelo says the shoes appear to be used, and most were tied
together in pairs. He says he's looking for a charity to take the
shoes, rather than sending them to the dump.
Santangelo says he's not sure where the shoes came from. There
were no signs of a crash, and no one stopped to claim them.

BamaBob you are too funny.  I watched the video and thought to myself that was going to be a loooooonnnnnngggggg and boring job.  Can you imagine what the motorist thought as they passed by???? LOL.

As for Bush, I don’t think he could have dodged that many shoes.  I’m sure he would have gotten hit by at least one PAIR, lol.

x files, where did all the people go

lol @bamabob.

that guy is gonna be a long time with that broom.

how is that even possible without anyone seeing anything?!?!

Was Pres Bush in the area?

Okay can you imagine the look on the LEO’s face when he pulled up and saw thousands of pairs of shoes strewn along the highway.  I mean you find some weird things in the road, everything from mattresses to clothes to food, etc but thousands of pairs of shoes that is a first.  I would have loved to hear the officers radio transmission back to dispatch when he figured out what he had, LOL.

Of course the 911 operator probably had a strange look on her face when she got the call.

Of course, I wouldn’t have stopped and claimmed them either.  But you know it kinda looks like someone had a dump truck load of old shoes and just started dumping them until their dump truck was empty.

No one stopped to claim them?? Hilarious!
