Residents in Santa Rosa County, Florida are also trying to recover from storm damage. The Community of Chumuckla spent the day cleaning up storm debris. Officials say at least 8 homes were damaged during the storm. Bell Creek Road got the brunt of the damage. An uprooted oak tree tore through one neighbor's roof. News Five spoke to a couple whose house was hit the hardest by the severe weather when their entire carport collapsed.
"You know everything was just so fast and you think you know you live all your life and you accumulate things and in no time at all it can be gone but we were not hurt,"Said Martha Jeter. "If it had been a life it would have been totally different you know, but houses can be rebuilt cars can be repaired," Said Hollis Jeter.
Officials in Santa Rosa County estimate the damage in Chumuckla at $100,000.
