CHIPLEY, Florida - A 7-month-old infant has gone missing from
her home in Chipley, a small town on the Florida Panhandle.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office said Monday that Shannon
Dedrick disappeared sometime between 3 a.m. and 11 a.m. on
Saturday.
Since then, about 75 search and rescue workers from three
counties have exhaustively scoured the surrounding area. They were
joined by K-9 teams and volunteers from local fire departments in a
14-hour search beginning late Saturday morning, and continued
nonstop since 7 a.m. on Sunday.
The arm-to-arm search has covered a 1/2-mile radius of Shannon's
home, and deputies are expanding the area each hour.
The sheriff's office was asking the public to continue calling
in tips.
Shannon was described as 2-feet tall and 11 pounds, with brown
hair and blue eyes.

We live in a cruel world so there is a possibility they could be the reason she is missing, but i dont see anything written to suspect that just yet. There is a shocking number of children abducted from there home in the middle of the night, by strangers and sadley by people they know. I pray for her safe return.

Perhaps this baby was premature.  Still 11 pounds and 24 in. is mighty small for any 7 month old.  If there were an underlying medical condition it would have been mentioned by now.  I still think the parents, one or the other, may be responsible for the disappearance.  Hope I am wrong.

put the pipe down

Maybe they work the night shift and those are the hours they sleep. I had a relative who had a weird schedule like that and their kids more or less kept to the parents’ sleep schedule.  They were able to effortlessly adjust to a more “normal” schedule during the summer before they started school.

The story does sound a bit fishy from what’s been reported, but it might be something like a night-time abduction.  Just hope they find her safe!!!

Shannon is my cousin and I had just heard about this Yesterday 11/01/09 and I am really upset that this happened.I had only got to meet Shannon once and that was eailier this year.

Babies born to alcoholic and/or crackheads and who knows what else, the babies heads are generally round and their faces are flat. I didn’t notice that here but I can’t find my reading glasses.

I read somewhere that the baby had a growth disorder.  May account for her size.  Either way, these parents are obviously guilty.

Maybe 11 pounds was a typo? This picture looks bigger than an 11 pound baby to me…..And at 7 months they aren’t “2 feet tall,” the correct phrase would be 24 inches long. If that is accurate info, the baby surely had some sort of medical condition, OR?????

I have a 3 month old granddaughter that weighs 13 lbs and she is not fat.

Why is it that these people have kids and dont want them and there are people that try and try to have kids just cant….I had 3 miscarriages before I had my son…and these people have them left and right and dont want them it is just not fair to the people who want kids and more importantly the KIDS…...I really hope the parents had nothing to do with the disappearance if this baby..
