(AP) - A rural Panhandle principal and his
athletic director were met with cheers by more than 300 people as
they walked into a Pensacola federal court to face contempt charges
for allegedly violating a judge's order against promoting school
prayer.

Pace High School Principal Frank Lay and Athletic Director
Robert Freeman face jail time and fines if Judge M. Case Rodgers
finds they violated a 2008 agreement with the American Civil
Liberties Union that was approved by the court.

The agreement prohibited school officials from praying or
promoting prayer at school events.

The court was filled to capacity when the proceedings began
Thursday morning. Christian protesters and students and faculty
lined the streets outside with signs and megaphones protesting the
ACLU.

News 5's Tiffany Craig will have a live report from the courthouse tonight on News 5 at 5:00 and 6:00.

Here is another quote worth reading:

John Adams…      SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE; JUDGE; DIPLOMAT; ONE OF TWO SIGNERS OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS; SECOND PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.1

The Holy Ghost carries on the whole Christian system in this earth. Not a baptism, not a marriage, not a sacrament can be administered but by the Holy Ghost. . . . There is no authority, civil or religious – there can be no legitimate government but what is administered by this Holy Ghost. There can be no salvation without it. All without it is rebellion and perdition, or in more orthodox words damnation.2

Without religion, this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company: I mean hell.3

The Christian religion is, above all the religions that ever prevailed or existed in ancient or modern times, the religion of wisdom, virtue, equity and humanity.4

Suppose a nation in some distant region should take the Bible for their only law book and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited. . . . What a Eutopia – what a Paradise would this region be!5

I have examined all religions, and the result is that the Bible is the best book in the world.6

The ACLU is no more than a hate group itself, they should be ran out of the Country.

If you go back and read History it was the intentions of the founding Fathers to have the Bible read in school above all other books.

Benjamin Rush

SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE; SURGEON GENERAL OF THE CONTINENTAL ARMY; RATIFIER OF THE U. S. CONSTITUTION; “FATHER OF AMERICAN MEDICINE”; TREASURER OF THE U. S. MINT; “FATHER OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS UNDER THE CONSTITUTION”

The Gospel of Jesus Christ prescribes the wisest rules

The Bible, when not read in schools, is seldom read in any subsequent period of life… [T]he Bible… should be read in our schools in preference to all other books because it contains the greatest portion of that kind of knowledge which is calculated to produce private and public happiness

Touchy issue for sure. The !st Amendment is designed to protect us from government instituting a national religion that must be adopted by and implimented by the State. this one of the reasons the puritans fled jolly ole’ England. The Church of England enforced with violence and pain of death King Henry’s decrees. So the free exercise of whatever religion you choose is protected and government officials are not to endorse one over the other , or any for that matter. Kids are able to lead prayer if they so desire anywhere anytime, a court cannot interfere with them , only if you are an employee of the govt. can they file an injunction cease and desist order. I’m not sure that I want a coach influencing my child to worship his way. This should be left to the child as your relationship to your creator is a personal one.

the ACLU needs to be ran out of this country, maybe they could go to Cuba and live with Castro.this country was founded with God’s law in mind, these atheist sobs can go to haties if they want to [ maybe we should pray for them ].
