TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - New president Barack Obama is almost aspopular with Floridians as Gov. Charlie Crist.
A new poll released Thursday by Quinnipiac (Conn.) University
showed 64 percent of 1,001 Florida voters surveyed said they liked
the way Obama was handling the job, despite the furor over an
economic stimulus package the Dewmocratic president signed into law
Tuesday.
Only 23 percent said they disapproved of the way Obama was
handling his duties.
Crist, a Republican, Crist had a 67 percent approval in the same
poll with 22 percent unfavorable.
But voters were split on the stimulus package with 51 percent
saying it will help get the economy on track while 49 percent said
they weren't confident it would help.
