PENSACOLA, Florida - And eighteen month old child is dead, her mother is in jail charged with manslaughter. It happened in a West Pensacola neighborhood just off Blue Angel Parkway. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan says the 21 year old mother, Christian Rochelle Woods, told investigators she left her home Saturday to go to work in Mobile.
"Sadly, she left three minor children in her home unattended," says Morgan. The Sheriff says when she returned Monday morning, one of her children, 18 month old Myleahya Danielle Woods was dead. Investigators say the mother then tried to fabricate a story that her daughter was missing. She phoned relatives who responded to the house and picked up her two year old son, Jaterius Woods. And she called police. But when her story didn't add up, investigators asked more questions. She admitted to leaving the children alone. Myleahya's body was found in a trash can on the property.
Morgan said Woods admitted that one child had died. But she believed the other child, Myleahya's twin sister Mykayla, was still alive. Investigators searched the house and found the young girl. "They found the child underneath a bed in the bedroom, clinging to life," Morgan says. The Sheriff also said the investigators initially thought Mykayla was also dead. But when they moved her from beneath the bed, her eyes fluttered and she was immediately taken to the hospital where she is in intensive care.
Sheriff Morgan says the house the children were in had no power or running water. "We found that when she left these children in the home that there was approximately six cups of jello opened and left in the living room for these children to eat, with no water and no juice."
People who live in this West Pensacola neighborhood say they were shocked and saddened that this happened here. They said if the mother had asked for help with her children, they would have responded. Sam Potter lives directly across the street from the Woods' house.
"Somebody here would have fed those people if they needed it."
"It really shook me up," says Levitra Westley. "If you don't want kids, give them to somebody, don't just abuse them."
Sheriff Morgan said the two year old boy, Jaterius Woods, is also being treated for signs of abuse, malnutrition and dehydration. Christian Woods has been charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse and one count of manslaughter. She is expected to make her first court appearance on Wednesday.

I do think we need to find the baby daddy (or daddies) and see if there is any culpability there. If they aren’t involved, as so many are not-then this needs to be a lesson to women to keep those legs closed and to young men, take a cold shower…

Regardless-primary parent,primary blame.

Aubie-I don’t think that will be the case…

there could be no possible defense for this psycho….maybe if she hadnt thought she was all grown up at 19 an have a kid and not take care of them this wouldnt have happened…. choices… people like her give teenagers like me a bad name…. now teenagers who have kids are going to think this kind of behavior is acceptable if she gets away with this…she will get on the witness stand, cry poor pitiful her, and be free to do it again to the other two…sorry, thats just how the great justice of america works….but if you steal a piece of candy…. oh my gosh were going to be off with thy head!!!!

See, he can’t even prove I’m a whitey cop wife-how can he possibly prove this chick is innocent? smile

Actually,no it didn’t lovepeace….I am lmao…because I don’t care WHAT his defense is for this low life, I can shoot holes in it all day long. Can’t defend guilty….

Now, don’t make me go all ghetto on you! (hand on the hip) wink

Honey, the only defense ideas for this woman is insanity and I don’t even think that would work because she left the children in the house with no water/power for the weekend! She did not go to “work.” I am sorry but that is a big fat LIE! She went out and did her thing and did not want to be bothered with her responsibilities!

Work? what kind of job? Family? No excuse for a human being like her…

“Anyway, I might be defending this woman.  Don’t know.  But if I am, you’ve helped me brainstorm some defense ideas. For that I thank you whitey cop wife.  If we win, I’ll give credit where its due.”

Ouch!  That had to hurt.

Regardless of whether or not she went to work, she was extremely foolish to leave children that age alone.  The little boy showed signs of malnutrition and abuse (so said the article).  There’s so many agencies out there that could have helped with the water & power bill & also in getting the kids some food.  Obviously, she chose to not take advantage of that.  She’s guilty.  No question about it.  No excuses.  Everyone has a free will.  Life is full of choices.  At least for now, this is a free country.

This is a sad classic example of women having kids and not taking care of them. DON’T HAVE KIDS IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO LOVE AND TAKE CARE OF THEM! Children are a blessing. I hope all of those women in the jail that she is going to beats her a**!
