Court records obtained by News 5 show the role investigators Pamela Long Wiggins played the the murder of Byrd and Melanie Billings

Wiggins was arrested Wednesday night and charged with accessory after the fact.

According to court documents, Wiggins owned a red minivan that was used in the escape after the home invasion/robbery last Thursday.

More than one of the seven men charged with murder in the case told investigators the guns used in the crime, along with the safe that was stolen from the Billings' home, were transferred into Wiggins van. The van was later spotted at her antiques store, Magnolia Antique Mall in Gulf Breeze.

More than one of the suspects also told investigators that Wiggins was in the van at the same time as the guns and safe, and that she knew the guns were used in the home invasion.

On Monday, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office searched her home. Neither the safe, nor the guns were found. Two days later, Wiggins' husband, Hugh, told investigators the safe was buried in the backyard of one of her homes.

Wiggins was released Thursday morning after posting a $10,000 bond.

Why in the world would you think sex was involved.  Just because some people got together and committed a crime doesn’t mean they were having a orgy.

I wonder if eventually they will say she was having an affair with one of the others…it had to be planned ahead on her part about receiving the guns, the safe, etc.  If this was as planned as they say, do they really think these guys had no plans AFTER the crime?..they did…her. I think she was in on it and possibly the planner all along..one woman and the men all gave their guns, etc. to her?  why?  maybe her husband was the next target, an accident and she would then have the safe, etc.  It seems as if she is the only one NOT talking. Eventually, maybe we’ll all find out the truth, or what they want us to know.

I have wrote the sheriff’s office, state attorney, and a couple news channels and still haven’t heard anything. I just want one reporter to ask, “With the new evidence in this case, will the charges against Pam Wiggins be ammended and her bond revoked?” Seriously, this woman belongs in jail, not sailing on her yacht.

I read on the channel 3 news site that she had been involved in one of the dry runs.

Pcola, I haven’t yet read of the “dry run,” but yes, if they can establish that she was in on the plan from the beginning, they can charge her with conspiracy and punish her like the rest of them.  There is also “felony murder.”  This means that if you participate in a dangerous felony (such as robbery, kidnapping, etc), and somebody ends up getting killed (even if you never planned on anyone dying or didn’t pull the trigger), you can be charged with murder.  If you had the intent to commit the underlying felony, they transfer that intent to the homicide.  That basically means if you’re going to take the chance to commit a felony, you’re going to pay if someone ends up getting killed.  So they’ve got that charge available too if she was only planning to help with a robbery.  Either way, if she knew anything ahead of time, she should NOT be on the streets!

lovepeace…Do you think with the new report that Pamela Wiggins was involved in the “dry run” could lead to an ammedment of the charges against her? If true, it seems to me that there would be no question about her prior knowledge of the crime.

Nothing new with that one.  They know the motives, but can’t release that info.  Still have some persons of interest they have yet to talk with.

The sheriff is coming up on CNN in a few minutes.

P’cola… As an attorney, the charge against Pamela Wiggins doesn’t make sense to me either.  If she was aware of the plan to commit the crime and helped in any way, even afterwards, they can get her on conspiracy and she can be punished as if she pulled the trigger.  “Accessory after the fact” implies that she didn’t know what was going on until later.  I’m assuming the cops must believe that she helped them clean up but didn’t help plan the thing.  ???  I don’t really see why they’d be willing to cut her any great deals if they think she was involved from the start.  I don’t think they need her badly enough to give her a sweet deal and let her out on an easy bond if she was a conspirator.  They’ve apparently got a bunch of them on camera and it sounds like several of them are starting to confess and will no doubt take the rest of the gang down with them.  What a bunch of idiots.  I kind of tend to think they never got the safe open.  Otherwise, you’d think it would have been over the side of that yacht days ago.  If they got what they wanted from it, why keep it?  Pamela Wiggins apparently had time to go out on the yacht the day she got arrested.  Maybe she couldn’t lift the safe and didn’t want to bring anybody else into the mix to help her, so she just left it where it was.  They must have thought there was more money in there.  Or something else…

there were 2 vans of similar description.

The one the thugs used, and her own minivan, which she apparantly drove it awhile with the safe and guns within.
