Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum says a Panama City nurse was arrested on charges that he neglected an elderly patient and falsified the patient’s medical records.Investigators say Ronald Culhane, a nurse at Seabreeze Health Care, failed to administer Coumadin to a 90-year-old patient at least nine times. But every time, Culhane initialed the patient’s medical chart as if the medication was administered.
Coumadin is a prescription blood thinner typically prescribed to prevent blood clots, strokes and heart attacks.
Culhane has been terminated from Seabreeze. He's charged with one count of neglecting an elderly adult and nine counts of falsifying medical records.
He faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
