lh…. I know that the family thanks you and I will keep you in my prayers as well as the families invovled.  You are a very good citizen to help.  Thanks!!!!

and no the motorcycle WAS NOT speeding! He was behind another car that made it through the intersection. They were both in the same lane…I remember when i was waiting to go right on red at the corner of 399 and 87, i saw him and noted “don’t be a creeper” (meaning stop completely so he knows that i see him) then she crept and went anyway, between him and the car that has already gone through the intersection

I was there, i was the witness. Also a bike rider. I saw him riding, and then i saw her pull in front of him. He had no time to react. I put my car in park, grabbed my phone and rushed to him! Dialed 911, the worst thing you can imagine, that was him! He had on leathers, jacket, chaps, boots, and not a full face helmet. I’ve dreamt about him for two nights now…Myself and another did everything we could. Practicing SABC from military training, we tried to open his airway! Until medics got there….It was to late. This was not his fault; i can’t imagine how this girl feels, or his family. But this was not his fault. I have prayed that God brings peace to all parties involved and that God rest his soul. this will be something that i never forget…bottom line motorcycles are licensed vehicles, they have a right to the road, watch for them. When you get behind the wheel of your car, you make that decision. You are responsible for your actions, misjudgments every action you take behind that wheel

right on mikey, educating the cagers about bikes and how to be more aware of their surroundings while driving is the key to everyone’s safety on the road.

I usually would not disagree with anyones opinion in this forum, until now.  I have been riding motorcycles for over 43 years and have seen my share of accidents and have been involved in a couple. (Both my fault….acting stupid) But to say that we live on the edge because we ride?  Not hardly.  Most true riders are very safe and if you notice, we have to have lights on and all sorts of other safety notification systems on the bikes by law.  We have to wear protective head gear.  I’ve had more friends killed in cars and pickups than on bikes. The notion of “riding on a track” defeats the purpose.  JMO.

turnipman—I just wanna let you know… My mother was riding in a Ford Bronco and lost her life due to another driver being irresponsible so it can happen to you ink any vehicle.
I was just making a comment to be careful and watch out…..

They say you never know how you’re gonna go unless you drive a motorcycle.

I wonder if the motorcycle was speeding?

I agree Razor.  I was just commenting about watching out for them.  My hubby rides bikes and we love it. I feel for the family and will be praying for them.  Actually both families will suffer.

I was just making a comment to be careful…..  And still feel that people needs to be very watchful for bikes.  They have as much rights on the road a vehicles does.

Yes, riding on a motorcycle, even responsibly, is living on the edge.  Why?  Because unfortunately there are too many irresposible people out there bhind the wheel.  Texting while driving, etc.  Unfortunately, a motorcycle offers the human body very litlle protection when one of these morons runs smack into you.  An enclosed vehicle offers much more protection.  I used to ride motorcycles as a teenager but now with a family, I refuse to jeopardize my family’s well being by putting myself out there with no protection.  I usually agree wih you on most debates razor but this one I respectfully disagree.  Riding on a motorcycle, even responsibly, is dangerous simply because it offer your body no protection from all of the idiots out there.  Riding in a controlled enviornment like on a track would be the safest way to enjoy the ride.  I don’t want some kid running a red light while he’s texting to take away my wife’s husband.  JMO.

“Motorcycles are unsafe on todays conjested roadways. They have no braking power.”

Mine will stop on a dime…almost instantly. Way better than your vehicle…wanna see?

“Riding a motorcycle is living “On the Edge”. “People who ride them know this, but do it anyway.”

So is smoking, eating fatty or fried fried foods, flying on an airplane and not exercising. What is your point? Besides, there are some of us who ride VERY responsibly…and eat healthy foods, and do not smoke…and exercise daily. This man that was killed, was doing nothing more than riding his motorcycle…something he obviously liked to do. Does that mean he was living on the edge or had no right to be riding? I think not.
