Missing Pilot’s Body Found

Florida Pensacola Teenager out fishing finds the body of 2nd Lt. John Alley who had been missing since Friday night.

- Body found in the water about 1/2 mile north of Summit Drive

- Pensacola police say a 16-year-old boy, who was fishing, stumbled across the body and notified a nearby search crew

- "It's a sad situation and we've been in contact with the family," said Assistant Chief Chip Simmons. "We're left with a lot of questions and are doing our best to try and answer them."

- An autopsy will be performed later this week

Search crews have found the body of 2nd Lt. John Alley who had been missing since Friday night.

Pensacola police tell News 5 they found the missing pilot's body around 11:30 a.m. not far from where his wrecked car was found Saturday morning.

News 5 has a crew on the scene and will have more tonight on News 5 at 5:00 and 6:00.

More than 100 people will spend their Memorial Day searching for a missing Air Force Pilot.

2nd Lt. John Alley went to work at Whiting Field NAS Friday, but never made it home. His wrecked 1996 Toyota Corolla was found around 5 a.m. Saturday off the Escambia Bay side of Scenic Highway near Summit Boulevard in Pensacola.

Alley's keys were still in the ignition. His wallet, containing cash and credit cards, and cell phone were all still in the car. There was no sign of blood.

Family, friends, search crews and K-9 units looked for Alley on Saturday and Sunday. Both searches came up empty.

Alley's father flew down from Utah to help in the search. His sister also flew down from Colorado. The family is convinced Alley walked away from the crash and that he's injured and disoriented.

Alley is a newlywed. He and his wife moved to Milton 10 months ago. The couple is expecting their first child.

I had that problem a month or two ago. When i would go to post something it would automatically delete it. I went and signed in again and it stopped. Try that MREMANN83 and see if it helps.

Carl and BamaBob I agree, the whole case makes no since whatsoever. And it’ll prob be another one that gets thrown on the back burner. The poor wife and unborn child will never know what happened to their husband/
daddy!!

It just doesn’t add up so far , does it? If I were the chief, I think I would check around the local doctor offices and emergency rooms to see if anyone was treated for wreck related injuries around that time . Doesn’t seem likely that LT. ALLEY would be badly injured and then walk that far and fall in the water. My sincere condolences to the family.
