Missing Woman Found In Her Home Buried Under 8 Feet Of Trash

Florida Jacksonville Police went to check on 71-year-old Carina Decampo after worried family members called to say they hadn't heard from her in weeks.

JACKSONVILLE, Florida - (AP) - Jacksonville authorities have found
the body of a 71-year-old woman after wading through a home filled
with garbage piled eight feet high.
Officers were checking on Carina E. Decampo late Tuesday, after
worried family members called to say they hadn't heard from her in
weeks.
They were met with what police called "unbelievable squalor"
and a stench that made officers ill.
After trying to search about 20 minutes, they had to call in
help.
The fire department arrived, using breathing gear and search
dogs to find Decampo.
No cause of death was immediately released.

you know,if I had a nickel for how often I saw this when I was doing home health…even my own grandmother was like that, although she confined her floor to ceiling pile to one room .
I have literally walked a path from the front door to the kitchen table where “stuff” was piled all the way to the ceiling on either side of me, in some of my patients homes…..Amazing !
