Milton Fire Cleanup

Climbing the stairs into one of the businesses devastated by Tuesday nights fire, it's hard to believe anything could have survived.
Digging out is a slow, tedious process in the law offices of Johnson Green and Associates. Mary Johnson is the senior partners secretary and wife. "We're finding files here and there and everywhere and we're hoping to be back up and running by the end of the week. Maybe by the end of next week."
The fire department turned the property back over to the owners Thursday and that starts a massive cleanup effort. They are trying to salvage whatever they can and in the process they are finding hot spots where stacks of files are now smoldering. This could go on for days.
The decision to rebuild or demolish remains undecided but in the meantime, among all the rubble and ash small victories, "His disciple study Bible and his freedom eagle survived," exclaims a worker. That in itself is victory enough, for now.
As we reported last night the historic Imogene Theater is structurally sound and will not be torn down. As for the rest of the buildings, that decision has not been made yet.
