E-M-T's responding to a medical call Monday afternoon weren't prepared for what they found inside an apartment on DeVilliers Street in Pensacola Monday. The 9-1-1 call went out as a possible cardiac arrest, but paramedics found the victim unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. 37-year old Alvin Still had been shot at least once. What started as a heart attack turned into a homicide investigation.
"He just seemed nice," says Still's neighbor, Pat Walden. "I'm sorry he's dead. He was polite and would speak to you, I thought he was nice."
"That is bad," says Sam Huff, who works near the crime scene. "We just need to love one another and cut out this kind of stuff."
Investigators have no suspects, in fact, they don't have much information at all about the shooting. Detectives placed business cards and phone numbers around the apartment complex, not wanting to case to go "cold."
This is the 3rd murder in Pensacola this year.
