The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating how a man ended up in Choctawhatchee Bay

Around 9:20 a.m., someone called 911 to report a car parked on the northbound side of the Mid-Bay Bridge between Destin and Niceville. The engine was still running. A second person then spotted a body floating in the water.

Coast Guard crew members attempted C-P-R but were unable to revive the victim.

Investigators believe they know who he is but will not release his identity until they can reach his next of kin.
