Man Breaks Into Five Police Cars

A bold burglar is behind bars accused of breaking into five police cars.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office arrested John White Tuesday morning. His pickup truck was sticking out of a driveway onto Coral Creek Drive in Pensacola. When a deputy stopped to investigate, he saw White trying to hide behind the steering wheel.

White told the deputy his truck had been stolen and that he chased the suspect to this location. But the deputy didn't buy his story and for good reason. Three police cars were broken into overnight and White had an Escambia County Sheriff's Office jacket sitting on the passenger's seat along with a bullet proof vest and a bag of chemical protective gear. He was also wearing a stolen Department of Transportation jacket.

When the deputy patted White down, he found two pairs of handcuffs and two stolen wallets.

The Sheriff's Office says White broke into a total of five police cars: two Pensacola Police Cars, an Escambia Sheriff’s Deputy Car and two Department of Transportation Police Cars.

He's accused of stealing a laundry list of items:
- Police car keys
- AR-15 rifle with four fully loaded magazines
- A mag flashlight
- A digital camera with lens
- I.D cards from the officers' vehicles
- Handcuffs
- Chemical protective gear
- Miscellaneous gear including a police badge and jacket

White is charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, burglary, possession of burglary tools, fraud-unlawful use/possession of a police badge, and possession of marijuana.

After his arrest, the Sheriff's Office learned White is wanted in Texas for felony marijuana possession. Bond is set at $22,000.

The Sheriff's Office says they do not believe White is the counterfeit cop terrorizing women in Escambia County.

haha @ BamaBob, my wife said the same thing. I didn’t see it till you 2 said something.
When I said he was going places I was referring to Jail,Court,Probation Officer’s appointment, etc., etc. With his record so far, that’s the only places he’ll be going.
