Man Who Threw Baby Out Car Window Faces Death Penalty

Florida Tampa Prosecutors will seek the death penalty for a Florida man accused of throwing his ex-girlfriend's baby out a car onto the highway killing the infant.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Prosecutors will seek the death penalty for a
man accused of throwing his ex-girlfriend's baby out a car on a Tampa
highway, killing the infant.
Richard McTear Jr. has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder
and other charges.
Assistant State Attorney Jalal Harb announced Wednesday at a
court hearing that the state would pursue the death penalty.
Authorities say McTear threw 3-month-old Emanuel Wesley Murray
down on the concrete during an argument with his 17-year-old
ex-girlfriend May 5. Then 21-year-old allegedly snatched up the
infant and threw him out of the car on Interstate 275 north of
downtown Tampa. The child's lifeless body was found on the roadside
by a passing motorist.
McTear is not the child's father.

I think doing that would be too nice of a gesture for this creep. Let Bubba get a hold of him a few times. Then tie him to the back of a moving vehicle going down the interstate for as many miles as fast as the vehicle was going when he took that poor child’s life.

They should take him out and throw him out of the window of a moving vehicle multiple times until he finallys dies. People like this do not deserve to breath.

People that are arraigned for such very serious charges or charges that are child related should not be able to negotiate down for a sentence. The book should be thrown at them.

I would think the prosecutor would have evidence to bring on this case. I think they negotiate if their case is weak to begin with.

The not guilty plea is a means to try and have his sentence reduced during negotiations between the procecutor and his lawyer(s). It’s part of the game that is our judicial system.

This is the sadest story since the four angels were thrown from DIP bridge. This man doesn’t deserve anything but to be put to death. Actually I and many others would like to know that he was tortured to death.

How can anyone be so heartless. There are some really bad people doing really bad things to children - more than ever before.

What is wrong with people today? He got pissed at the girl and harmed the baby? That is just completely senseless. I doubt he will make it to the trial. Once the people in his cell find out what he did he will be their you know what!

Some people seem to have no respect for human life. This baby was an innocent. Maybe they should throw this guy out of a car going 100 mph and see what he thinks (if he survived). Prison is too good for him. Give him the death sentence he deserves. I don’t understand how he can plead not guilty.
