Man Robbing Bar Is Taken Down By Customers

Florida Pensacola When Mark Freeman made the decision to rob Richey’s Bar in Pensacola you can bet he never expected to end up the target of a bar brawl.

PENSACOLA, Florida - Toby Keith would be a big fan of Richey’s Bar in Pensacola. In his song I Love This Bar, Keith sings " ... we got hustlers, we got fighters, early birds and all-nighters." Well Richey's definitely has fighters.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, Mark Freeman walked into Richey's Bar on North Ninth Avenue Wednesday night around 8:15 armed with a Daisy BB Gun. Wearing a black hoodie and a white cloth over his face, Freeman told everyone that he was robbing the place. But Freeman didn't know what was about to happen next.

When Freeman turned his back, a customer smashed a pool cue over his head. Several other customers tackled Freeman and held him until deputies arrived.

Freeman was charged with robbery with a firearm and battery for fighting with the bar patrons while trying to escape. Bond was set at $51,000.

Fantastic! If patrons would group together like this more often during robberies, the maybe these thugs would think twice before robbing an establishment. Oh, and a Daisey BB gun? Seriously? Thug life… hehehehahahaha

That’s fantastic!!! I don’t think he took the time to “case” the place before attempting that robbery. Richey’s sounds like my kind of place - people watching out for their own.
